چکیده
In this article, we propose a hybrid glide-symmetric metasurface which presents an electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) behavior at the $Ka$ -band. The innovative part of work is nature periodic structure, implemented with holes on two different technologies: printed circuit board (PCB) and metallic waveguide. These avoid propagation in undesired parallel plate created between PCB To demonstrate potential concept, configuration was placed surrounding PCB–waveguide transition -band to reduce leakage by air gaps. A prototype manufactured measured corroborate effectiveness technique losses crosstalk.

Planar Waveguide Arrays for Millimeter Wave Systems
Design of high gain and high efficiency antennas is one of the key challenges in antenna engineering and especially in millimeter wave communication systems. Various types of planar waveguide arrays with series-fed traveling wave operation have been developed in Tokyo Tech with the special focus upon efficiency enhancement as well as reduction of fabrication cost. In this review, four kinds of ...
متن کاملHybrid Beamforming for 5G Millimeter-Wave Multi-Cell Networks
Multi-cell wireless systems usually suffer both intracell and inter-cell interference, which can be mitigated via coordinated multipoint (CoMP) techniques. Previous works on multi-cell analysis for the microwave band generally consider fully digital beamforming that requires a complete radio-frequency chain behind each antenna, which is less practical for millimeterwave (mmWave) systems where l...
متن کاملBroadband Millimeter-wave Microstrip Line to Waveguide Transition
Millimeter-wave antennas have been developed for applications of broadband high-speed wireless communication systems and automotive radar systems in these days. Microstrip antennas (MSA) are more advantageous than other millimeter-wave antennas at the viewpoints of low-profile and low-cost. The antenna is connected to the backed RF circuits through the waveguide in the millimeter-wave module as...
متن کاملMitigating Pilot Contamination in Multi-cell Hybrid Millimeter Wave Systems
In this paper, we investigate the system performance of a multi-cell multi-user (MU) hybrid millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) network adopting the channel estimation algorithm proposed in [1] for channel estimation. Due to the reuse of orthogonal pilot symbols among different cells, the channel estimation is expected to be affected by pilot contamination, which is c...
متن کاملMicromachined Waveguide Components for Submillimeter-wave Applications
The high cost of fabricating waveguide components is one of the primary factors limiting the development of terahertz technology. This paper reviews the development of an inexpensive micromachining technology that is suitable for the frequency range from 500 GHz through 5 THz. Our first effort was a 585 GHz direct detector that allowed us to measure the beam patterns of our new micromachined ho...
